I sometimes wonder if CNN.com is sufficiently self-aware to realize that running a blaring BREAKING NEW headline about somebody asking the media for privacy is a bit of a dick move. I mean, look, if you’re the media, you cover stuff. You’re under no obligation to honor a request for privacy, other than a general desire to do the decent thing.

A victim’s request for privacy is not national news. Making it national news is exactly what the victim’s family was asking you not to do.
