I’m finding this one a bit hard to believe, even if it were meant humorously.  I can’t find a credibly sourced story on this one.  I also can’t find a rebuttal from anybody.  McCain was indeed at a $500 per plate fundraiser in Rogers, Arkansas that night—but that’s all I can find.  I’m going to go with this being one of those vicious blog rumors.  Sure, John McCain drew the line between rich and not-rich at $5 million a year last night—but that was because he didn’t want to talk specifics on the economy or offer any reasonable definition of middle-class lest somebody point out that his campaign’s accusations that Obama will raise middle-class taxes are demonstrably false.
