Obama names Mary Jo White as SEC Chairman

Nominating a former prosecutor to head the SEC is an encouraging move (even if I’m less impressed by the more recent white collar defense work). I can reserve final judgment until I figure out who’s mad about the nomination.

Either way, it’s better than appointing some insider who wants to let the industry “self-regulate.”

And re-upping Cordray as head of the CFPB is a great move.
