This has got to end. Hillary has been pretty reasonable over the past few days—and I don’t know how long she can keep playing nice. Even this facetious claim about “more people voted for me” is going to hurt in November when the far right starts whispering that Obama shouldn’t really even be the nominee. Does Hillary have more votes? Sort of—if you can selectively enfranchise, disenfranchise, and partially enfranchise states. She wholly discounts all of the caucus states. She counts Florida where nobody campaigned and she won on name recognition. She counts only the people who voted for her in Michigan. But when the right-wingers start echoing this deception in November, most people who hear it won’t do a fact-check. It will live forever with the secret Muslim emails.
