“ Can felons vote?”
This was perhaps the most exemplary response I got when trying to get out the vote in Gary, Indiana. I wasn’t sure about the answer—so I checked with the guy who knew. It turns out they can, so I sprinted after the self-described felon’s car, caught him at a stoplight, and told him he could vote.
