Open Season on the Poor
Romney has announced his plans to eliminate the Legal Services Corporation. This is the organization that funds legal aid organizations to do things like help domestic violence victims get protection from abusers, prevent unlawful evictions, file wage claims when employers steal wages, sue landlords who illegally discriminate, and otherwise do what they can to make sure everybody is protected by the law. It’s a clever way to make sure your corporate buddies don’t have to worry about following the law. He tried to do the same thing when he was Governor of Massachusetts. Classy move, Romney.
