I think Romney’s campaign just died.

So Harry Reid is saying he has a reliable source telling him that Romney has not paid taxes in ten years.

Harry Reid is the Senate Majority Leader. He’s savvy as a fox and isn’t going to make something up if it’s going to backfire the next day.
Of course, Reid’s attribution of the quote to “a reliable source” gives him potential wiggle room later.
When Harry Reid says something, it’s no longer just rumor. This doesn’t mean it’s true—it just means it’s now ripe for mainstream media attention.

At this point, Romney’s options are to either release his tax returns or … I really don’t think there’s an alternative. If Romney releases returns showing he paid the right amount of taxes, it blows up in Reid’s face. Reid looks bad. Why the heck wouldn’t Romney do it … unless there’s something serious to hide.
