Truth? Americans are fleeing the job market. The Obama Administration doesn’t want you to know that.
Hey Heritage Foundation:
Why do you think that’s happening? It sure looks like that general downward trend is accelerating. Are people retiring early due to the rough economic waters? Giving up looking for work? Going back to school for more education? Staying in school longer? Is the percentage of kids attending college up? What’s behind that number? Are they just living longer?
I haven’t found a single person who’s decided to “flee” the job market—though I’ve talked to a few people in the “discouraged worker” category. But even the “discouraged” folks usually take the minimal steps necessary to count as labor force participants.
