Drinking age of 21 doesn't work 
John M. McCardell Jr., president emeritus at Middlebury College, points out what should be obvious to anybody who has recently been on a college campus. A lot of underage drinking happens. And a lot of people who start binge drinking when they are under 21 keep the habit when they are older.
I don’t have a whole lot vested in this one way or another—but stupid policy annoys me. Perhaps if we dropped the drinking age to 18 people could have some experience consuming alcohol in an environment where there is some social pressure to do so responsibly. Underage drinking will happen either way. Perhaps accepting this would allow some alternatives to everything-or-nothing binge culture.
